Movie Review: The Legend Of Hercules

I went and saw The Legend of Hercules today with one of my good buddies. As I haven’t been to the movies in months and I haven’t seen any previews for anything that’s out, that movie was picked because it was the most convenient show time. My buddy enjoys movies like this, and it was definitely reminiscent of other Greek/Roman movies such as 300, Gladiator, etc., that have become popular in the last couple decades.

I have to admit that this was one of the more interesting ways of telling the story of Hercules. It felt like there was probably more authenticity to it, but I am not an expert on these things. In fact, I don’t really pay attention to history at all. So I can’t comment on the correctness of the fighting styles or the costumes or anything of that nature, and, quite frankly, I don’t care. That’s not why I watch movies.

The action was pretty good and the story was different. So I guess I will say that I enjoyed the movie, but that it’s one that I probably don’t need to see again.
