We got my puppy a Thundershirt today and immediately we are seeing results. Usually around this time she is running wild and annoying us. But now she is laying calmly in my lap as I write this. She is extremely sensitive to loud noises (making this the second Aspie dachshund my family has owned) like thunderstorms and fireworks. (For those of you who pay attention, her birthday was 4 days ago on 6/26, so she would have been only a week or so old last fourth of July.) Last night she heard some fireworks and straight up brayed like a hound dog, a sound she has never made. She wants to protect us. Tonight, even more fireworks, but nothing more than a brief wuf escaped her teeny lips. She has asked to wear her Thundershirt twice today. Today, as in the day we got it. She is not at all stressed. She is content.
