Another example of why representation matters. I heard of asexuality for the first time in my late 30s. By that time I’d already spent over quarter of a century fighting crippling depression and anxiety, convinced that there was something wrong with me. The 4 years since I found out about asexuality have contained more peace than the previous 38 years combined. I refuse to have regrets over the time I lost, but I don’t want anyone else to lose that time.
